Cadillac vs. Ford
Two American Brands, both define American as work
Cadillac vs. Ford
Cadillac released a commercial this winter, promoting their new hybrid sports car, the ELR. It first aired during a PGA event and stars Neal McDonough.
It shows him in a contemporary, expensive looking home with him relaxing pool side to changing into a crisp suit. The quick cuts has him walking through the possessions he’s collected through hard work.
Fast forward to Spring. Ford showcases their own hybrid.
Features a young, African American woman, Pashon Murray — the founder of Detroit Dirt. The commercial has the visual style but the messaging is different. It talks about entrepreneurship and sustainability. Pashon emphasizes the unglamourous aspect of her work, turning manure and resturant scraps into sustainable fuel but she’s more relatable. Inspiring. We love both cars but also find it interesting how they’re being marketed.
